Alan Weitberg, MD

Alan Weitberg serves as Medical Director of the Academic Institute. In his first year at Atrius Health, Dr. Weitberg worked to centralize all academic activities at Atrius Health to form the Academic Institute and its unique Center structure - Clinical Research, Education, Analytics & Informatics, and Innovation.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  Over the course of his career, he has engaged in basic and clinical research, and has held major teaching and administrative positions at Brown Medical School and Brown's Roger Williams Medical Center.  He has also maintained a clinical presence in hematology/oncology.  Dr. Weitberg currently participates in the teaching of Harvard Medical School’s Physical Diagnosis and Reasoning (PDR) course, which gives students hands-on instruction on how to conduct a physical examination and document a medical history. Dr. Weitberg is a Lecturer on Population Medicine, Part-time.
