Chanu Rhee received an R01 award from AHRQ titled, ‘Electronic Surveillance for Hospital-Onset Sepsis to Expand Detection of Serious Healthcare-Associated Infections ’. This project will use retrospective HCA and CMS data to assess hospital-onset Adult Sepsis Events vs. reportable Healthcare Acquired Infections, including the impact of patients’ long-term outcomes. Electronic algorithms will also be developed to identify these infection types. Chart reviews will also be conducted at Mass General Brigham. Other TIDE and DPM team members include: Mike Klompas, Rich Platt, Candace Fuller, Rui Wang, Tingting Yu, Amanda Isaacs, Laura DelloStritto and Micaela Coady.
Julia Marcus received an R01 award from NIAID titled, ‘Predictive Analytics and Clinical Decision Support to Improve PrEP Prescribing in Community Health Centers (PrEDICT)’. Other TIDE team members include: Doug Krakower, Kelly O’Keefe, Amanda Isaacs and Micaela Coady.
Chanu Rhee received a BAA Contract from CDC titled, ‘Development and Application of a National Pediatric Sepsis Event Surveillance Definition’. Using EHR data from a variety of sources representing hundreds of U.S. hospitals (HCA Healthcare, Premier, Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN), and Epic Cosmos), the project will develop and validate an EHR-based Pediatric Sepsis Event (PSE) surveillance definition, estimate the national burden of pediatric sepsis incidence and mortality, and develop a PSE toolkit that hospitals can use to facilitate local sepsis surveillance. Subcontractors and partners include: CHOP, Colorado, Lurie, Nemours and NIH. Other TIDE team members include: Mike Klompas, Seby Sljivo, Laura DelloStritto and Micaela Coady.
