Kenneth Sands

Dr. Sands recently joined the Hospital Corporation of America as Chief Epidemiologist and Chief Patient Safety Officer.  He leads HCA’s enterprise-wide initiatives, overseeing activities related to health services research, infection prevention, patient safety, laboratory stewardship, medication management, peer review, and implementation science for more than 300 HCA-affiliated healthcare facilities nationally and internationally.  He also provides leadership for HCA’s Patient Safety Organization. 

Dr. Sands attended Colgate University, obtained a medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, and received his MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to his current position, Dr. Sands was Chief Quality Officer at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Boston.
