DPM Vice-Chair Receives Harvard Medical School AwardEmily Oken, MD, MPH, DPM Professor and Vice-Chair, has received the 2018 Harvard Medical School Harold Amos Faculty Diversity Award. This award was established to recognize and celebrate faculty who have made significant achievements in moving Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine towards being a diverse and inclusive community. Jenna WongJenna Wong, PhD, MSc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. She received her MSc in Epidemiology from the University of Ottawa and her PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University. Her research focuses on predictive modelling applications in epidemiology using electronic and linked administrative health data. She has created dynamic risk prediction models for in-hospital mortality, risk indexes for post-discharge outcomes, and machine learning algorithms for antidepressant treatment indications. First Annual Fletcher Prize AwardedWe are pleased to announce that Suhas Gondi, a first year medical student at Harvard Medical School, has been selected to receive the first annual Fletcher Prize in Population Medicine. The Fletcher Prize is awarded by the Department for the best paper on a topic in Population Medicine written by a Harvard Medical School or Harvard School of Dental Medicine student. Izzuddin ArisIzzuddin M Aris, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Medicine at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and Harvard Medical School. He received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, and his graduate degree in Epidemiology from the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on prenatal predictors of childhood growth, overweight/obesity and related cardio-metabolic disease. Pagination |
