Congratulations to Hadley Stevens Smith, the inaugural winner of the Sandy Schwartz Young Scholar Award at the 2023 Society of Medical Decision-Making Conference! This award honors an early career Health Policy and Medical Decision Making scholar with potential for impact and leadership in the field!
Welcome to CHeRP Taylor Montgomery! Taylor Montgomery joined CHeRP as a Senior Research Assistant. Taylor received her BA in Kinesiology Sports Medicine and Philosophy from Rice University in 2022 and received her MPH in Health Services Organization from the University of Texas in 2023. While completing her MPH, Taylor worked as a graduate research intern on the ethical and policy implications of pediatric deep brain stimulation (pDBS) for children with psychiatric disorders. Her research interests include pediatric bioethics and public health ethics and policy. She will be working with Hadley Stevens-Smith on an NIH diversity supplement focused on the ELSI of pediatric genomic sequencing.

CHeRP is thrilled to announce Kirsten Voorhies’ promotion to Senior Biostatistician. This promotion reflects the excellent work and increased responsibilities that Kirsten has taken on. Kirsten demonstrates strong leadership in the development of new statistical methods for use in research projects and takes primary responsibility for and lead authorship on scientific reports. She has made important contributions to the division through her work with Dr. Sharon Lutz, and CHeRP is so happy to see her take on this new role. Congratulations, Kirsten!

Congratulations to Hadley Stevens Smith on receiving the 2023 Ebert Fellowship! Given annually in memory of Robert H. Ebert, founder of Harvard Community Health Plan and former Dean of Harvard Medical School, the Ebert Fellowship is part of the Harvard Medical School Eleanor and Miles Shore Faculty Development Awards. The fellowship is awarded to junior faculty to support research and career development in population medicine.
CHeRP is delighted that Davene Wright has agreed to serve as Associate Director. Since joining CHeRP in 2019, she has made substantial contributions to CHeRP and to the department - from research in decision sciences, to best practices in DEI hiring and to developing your personal brand! CHeRP is excited to announce Ryan Walsh’s promotion to Senior Administrative/Project Specialist. This promotion reflects Ryan’s increased administrative and project responsibilities, and the excellent work and leadership that he demonstrates in leading pre-award processes for multiple faculty members, supporting projects for the division, and mentoring new administrative staff. Ryan is a crucial part of the CHeRP team and we are so happy to see his growth in the division. Congratulations, Ryan!
