Harvard Medical School has awarded the Department a "Culture of Excellence in Mentoring" award for its program of faculty mentoring and performance review. Harvard Medical School has established this new mentoring award to recognize the efforts of a department, division, office or program to foster innovation and sustainability in mentoring while building a culture of mentoring. The awards recognize the value of quality mentoring relationships and the impact they have on professional development and career advancement in basic/clinical medicine, research, teaching, and administration. This new award provides an opportunity to learn from successful formal mentoring programs and allow others in the community to adopt model programs. Stay tuned for a forthcoming manuscript about the DPM mentoring program, which will offer a more detailed description of the program. Congratulations to all!
