Jonathan Finkelstein, MD, MPH

Dr. Finkelstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Medicine and is a pediatrician, health services researcher and Associate Director of Population Medicine's Center for Child Health Care Studies. After residency and chief residency at Children's Hospital, Boston he completed a National Research Service fellowship in health services research, with an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. He has utilized managed care systems to test care improvement strategies for childhood asthma and to study asthma care for low-income children. He has also analyzed changing patterns of antibiotic use for children, and currently leads a randomized trial of a community-based approach to promoting appropriate antibiotic use. Dr. Finkelstein is a current recipient of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Generalist Faculty Scholars Award. In addition, he is the Department of Population Medicine site director of the Harvard Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship, a pediatrician at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, and a postgraduate medical educator at Children's Hospital, Boston.
